Request for List of Electronic Meetings
The message of Al-Anon Family Groups is one of hope. It is the story of men and women who once felt helpless, lost, and lonely because of another’s alcoholism. Today these men and women have courage and confidence. They have found understanding friends. They have learned what to do to help themselves and this can indirectly help their alcoholic relatives, loved ones, and friends, whether sober or not.
Some of the Al-Anon resources that members have found helpful are:
•Reading Al-Anon literature- daily readers, books, pamphlets
•Having an Al-Anon Sponsor. “A Sponsor is someone with whom a member can discuss personal problems or questions; someone who willingly shares the experience, strength, and hope of the Al-Anon program.” Sponsorship, What It’s All About (p-31)
•Attending face-to-face meetings
•Having a home group
•Keeping in touch with other members between meetings
•Participating in an meeting
Electronic meetings can be in e-mail, chat, bulletin board, or telphone format.
